This year i am going to try a few products i think will help my 3-d game - vortex ,viper binoculars . a lot of people ask why buy high dollor glass when i can see with cheap ones . My experence is the more eye fatigue and time you burn up trying to see were you want to place a arrow the more it takes a toll on your shooting later in the day . i am going to try another stabilizer system too. not sure which one yet ,but have 2 and will pick one soon, I will give my review when i make my choice.

new year coming and time to reflect a little. I would like to thank a few people here . Why , well i see it this way . I dont go crazy trying to get a lot of sponsors but i do have some and try to aquire some every year .The sponsors i have are valued and i really try to help out.This year i really got a bow that fit me and my style more than in the past, thanks to mega dan and jeremy at DY OPTICS initially talking up the PSE bows I tried one . And thanks to Jerry Decker and DECKERS BOWS AND MORE , and P.S.E. I started shooting these bows agian after 10 years. Archery is again more fun because of more success . I cant thank Jerry enough for his help personally and with the club.
Thank You to all of the shooters and sponsors and club members for helping Mountaintrail Bowhunters club be a big success again for the 3rd year in a row after a little stumble for a couple years . We , because of you have updated our 3-d targets every year. updated our indoor range with new block targets, new drive way new mower to keep the grounds nice. Every thing feeds off success , because we work to make quality shoots , you come and pay hard earned money to have fun, which keeps you coming back . well the work party went well the place was a mess after the summer season a lot to put away.. new indoor block targets are up and ready to shoot. Remember indoor leagues start 1st week in January .

whats up everyone except crappy weather.We are going to have 2 IBO qualifiers this year . looks like the dates are 9th and 10th of may & 20 th 21 st of june. Being the IBO world tournament is in New York we thought we should run 2 in case some of you cant make one.

Feb 7 th we are running a 450 vegas tournament at the trail , this will be a good warm up for the next weekend smackdown.

D.Y. PROMOTIONS is putting together another Indoor Triple Crown Smackdown .Mountaintrail Bowhunters club is hosting the 2 nd leg of this great shoot. The 1st leg is going to be held at NEILS ARCHERY in ENDICOTT N.Y. The 3rd leg is going to be at KLIENS ARCHERY IN DRYDEN, this will also be where the closing trophies and banquette will be directly following the shoot.There will be trophies for 1st thru 3rd at each leg. There is going to be great door prizes picked at the end for the shooters that make all 3 shoots. This format of shooting is great fun, any one can end up winning.For those of you that where at last years shoot we have changed the scoring for the overall. last year we had over 50 shooters at the final. Hopefully we can start out with that many at the 1 st leg. This is really turning into a premier shoot in the southern tier of new york so come out and try this shoot if you havent before. directions to mountaintrail are on the web site. neils is on main street in endicott new york. kliens archery is located in dryden i will give better diretions later.
for people that havent shot this smackdown format this is a little intro--- everyone shoots a qualifing round of 3 arrow ends and 5 ends-- this gives you your qualifing score-- you are then grouped with the scores that are closest to yours and you go to a semi final round with these people. Example . if there are 6 or more shooters in your pier group we will take the top 2 to 3 to the finals. in the finals only the bottom score gets bumped out each round untill there is one standing. scoring on the vegas face is x= 11 ,10 ,9 ,8 .7.6.
