WELL THE WEATHER AND THESE SOUTH WINDS DO NOT GO TOGETHER WITH MY HUNTING SETS.DID CALL A ONE HORNED 3 POINT IN TO A DOE GRUNT THURSDAY AT 4 30 PM ON THE GROUND . HE GOT TO 15 FEET. WISH HE WAS THE BUCK I WAS LOOKING FOR. OR DOE .
WELL THE WETHER AND WIND ALONG WITH THE ONCOMING RUT WILL CHANGE THINGS FOR THE BETTER SOON GOOD LUCK. THIS RAINY AND WINDY DAYS ARE THE TIME I CHANGE AND SET NEW STANDS . THE WIND AND RAIN HELP KEEP SOUND AND SCENT DOWN .
LITTLE TIP --ALWAYS SHOOT YOUR BOW EVERY FEW DAYS WHILE HUNTING-- I SHOT THE OTHER DAY AND WAS SHOOTING 5 YARDS LOW. APPARENTLY WHILE PULLING MY BOW INTO THE STAND I BUMPED THE PEEP SIGHT. IT DOSENT TAKE MUCH. ALL OF THOSE HOURS IN THE STAND CAN BE FOR NOTHING IF THE SHOT ,WHEN IT COME, IS OFF. SHOOT THOSE BOWS EVERY FEW DAYS. ONE OR TWO SHOOTS IS ALL IT TAKES.

well ibo worlds are over and the locals that i know that did great are steve franzese aka pappy he got into the shoot down round . which you need to be in the top 5 scores so if there is ties there could be more than 5 . steve went in 6 th and came out 6th in the seniors M.S.R. CLASS . It is a running total of all 3 days shooting so you can jump up. M arty Jones of ithica shooting out of lansing bowhunters club got in 5th place and came out 3 rd in the Senior hunter class S.H.C. CLASS. Hope Gillette in female traditional took 3rd she is from Binghamton NY. April Bradley from chemung area took 3 rd in female senior release and judy bloddgett took 6th in that class also. In the Female youth class Theresa Mc Andrew from just over the PA bordere shooting out of DECKERS BOWS AND MORE. TOOK 2 ND SHE TOOK 1 ST LAST YEAR AND HAS BEEN IN THE TOP OF HER CLASS SINCE ENTERING. WAY TO GO .

for you guys that have problems, dont think your alone . there are plenty of shooters with problems they know and dont know. You just have to be big enough to address them. This weekend no ERIE shoot for me the average scores are down my shooting on the bags ok, but 3-d tournament shooting is way down.going to address my eyesight today. need new perscription ( BLURRY TARGET) and work on my form and mental game. hopefully things will be real good by IBO world shoot in august.

Shot at Pine City , just south of Elmira ,sunday. Things went a little better again , but 3 bad form shots cost me 1st place, Have to get those bad execution shots out and then real progress will begin. Nice day great shoot not super long yardage but back and forth made you pay attention. 6 more weeks till the big shoots start , lots of work to do before then.Jeff Blodgett brought the new Bohning 3 degree helical fletcher to the shoot and we flethsd some of my 3d easton light speeds. I use the mini blazers (1 1/2 INCHES LONG) and that jig put a nice helical on them. will be testing them this week side by side of my off set minis. we will see if they group any better. WELL THE SMACKDOWN IS OVER ,AND IT WENT GREAT . WE DONATED 160 $ TO A LOCAL ARCHER THAT PASSED AWAY AT CHRISTMAS, HE WAS ONLY 14 YEARS OLD. THE MONEY GOES TO A SCHOLARSHIP FUND IN HIS NAME.

Congrats go out to Rod Carly 1st place 446 and Frank CHUGGA Cherenaga 2nd place 443 at Mountaintrails 450 vegas shoot last weekend. The pre smackdown smackdown at kirkwood had 19 shooters , nice turn out agian 2 years in a row. i was not there but was informed that-- Mega Dan Martinez took 4 th AL-- hammer it- Avery 3RD Steve -PAPPY- Franzese 2nd AND Kenny-RAINMAN- Raymond 1st--- finals where a shooting clinic it sounded like.Mountain trails LAMEREAU brothers and Ken Barnett also faired well.
Remember SMACKDOWN AT THE TRAIL SUNDAY . come shoot or to watch 10 am CHILI is whats for dinner. and the fire place will be a stokin and shooters a smokin x rings.

congrats to some local shooters Mitch Scott and Ken Raymond that shoot out of Neils archery shop in Endicott ,shot very well at the Lancaster Archery Vegas target tournament last weekend. Mitch ended up taking money at 6 th place in bow hunter pin class, and Ken took 16th in money in the open unlimited class with all the Pros . way to go guys guess that smackdown experence is paying off.
BIG NEWS OF THE DAY FOR MOUNTAINTRAIL IS THE 2010 AND 2011 NEW YORK I.B.O. STATE CHAMPIONSHIP WILL BE HELD AT MOUNTAINTRAIL BOWHUNTERS CLUB, WE WILL BE ADVERTISING IN THE YEAR TO COME. THIS WILL BE A GGREAT CHAMPIONSHIP SHOOT .
